19 students aged 16 to 17 rolled their sleeves up and learned new photography skills and techniques which they could offer to potential employers. Over the series of workshops each student compiled a portfolio showing their range of skills and abilities. The workshops were practical and fun, and although the students has a serious intention they had a great time exploring their creativity and involving each other in their work.
Our IP practitioner was particularly impressed with the students. She said “The students were very mature and forward thinking. They helped each other thoughtfully which was very encouraging to see. One of the unexpected outcomes of the workshop series is that the students have now formed their own lunchtime visual art group and have introduced a school wide art award scheme to encourage lots of other students to get creative too.”
